1. Who we are

2. Our reseller

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders.

Paddle handles the payment, the invoice and the taxes that apply to your purchase. Paddle’s own terms and privacy policy, linked in the checkout window, also apply.

3. What you are buying

You are buying a symbolic star-naming gift: the right to choose a name for one star in the Starrify star catalogue shown on this website, and a digital certificate (a PDF file) that records the name you chose.

• The naming is symbolic. It is not an official astronomical registration and it is not recognised by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) or by any scientific body.
• Astronomers will not use the name, and it does not appear in any official star catalogue.
• The star map, and the positions shown on it and on the certificate, belong to our own illustrative catalogue. They are not scientific coordinates.
• Each star in our catalogue can be named only once. While your naming is valid, we will not sell the same star in our catalogue to anyone else.

4. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euros (EUR) on each star and include any VAT or sales tax that applies. Paddle calculates the tax for your country, and the total is shown in the checkout window before you pay. You pay once; there is no subscription.

5. How an order works

• Choose an available star and enter the star name, the owner’s name, the email address the certificate should be sent to, and the certificate language.
• When you continue to payment, the star is held for you for 30 minutes. If you do not complete the payment in that time, it becomes available to others again.
• When Paddle confirms the payment, the star is marked as named on our map and we email you the certificate, usually within a few minutes.
• If the certificate does not arrive, check your spam folder and then contact us.

6. Star names

You choose the star name and the owner name, and you are responsible for them. They must not be offensive or unlawful, must not infringe anyone else’s rights, and must not contain another person’s personal data without their permission. Star names can be up to 40 characters long and owner names up to 43. We may refuse an order whose name breaks these rules; if you have already paid, we will refund you in full.

The star name and the owner name are shown publicly on this website and in the list of registered stars on starrify.eu.

7. Your certificate and ownership code

The certificate email includes an ownership code that shows the naming is yours. Keep it safe and do not share it: we may ask for it before changing your star’s details.

8. Refunds

You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. See our Refund Policy.

9. Liability

We provide the star naming and the certificate as a symbolic gift. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for a purchase is limited to the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these terms limits your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of Georgia. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version published on this page when you made your purchase applies to that purchase.
