Privacy Notice

1. Who is responsible

2. What we collect

• Order details you give us: the star name, the owner’s name, the email address for the certificate, the certificate language and the star you chose.
• Payment details are collected by Paddle, not by us. We never see your card number. Paddle tells us whether the payment succeeded, the amount, the currency and a transaction reference.
• Messages you send us by email or phone.
• Technical data: when you open a page, our server receives your IP address, the page, the time, the page that linked to it and your browser’s name. It uses the full IP address only for a moment, to work out your approximate location (country and city, from MaxMind GeoLite2 data kept on our own server) and to count visitors; what it stores is the address with its last part removed (for example 83.50.200.0), never the full address.

3. Why we use it

• To carry out your order: to reserve the star, register the name, create the certificate, email it to you and give you an ownership code (performance of a contract).
• To show the star name and the owner name on our public star map, which is part of what you buy (performance of a contract).
• To answer your questions and handle refunds (performance of a contract).
• To keep the website secure and to prevent fraud and abuse (our legitimate interests).
• To understand how the website is used - how many people visit, from which countries, which pages they open and which links or adverts brought them - so that we can improve it (our legitimate interests). We count visitors with a number that changes every day and cannot be turned back into your address; we use no cookies or tracking scripts for this and share nothing with advertising or analytics companies.
• To keep the records the law requires (legal obligation).

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising.

4. What is public

The star name and the owner name are shown publicly on this website and on starrify.eu. Your email address is never published.

5. Who we share it with

• Paddle (Paddle.com Market Ltd and its group), our reseller and Merchant of Record, which processes your payment, invoice and any refund. Paddle handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
• Google (Gmail), which we use to send the certificate and our other emails.
• Hetzner Online GmbH, which hosts our website and database.
• Public authorities, where the law requires it.

6. International transfers

We are based in Georgia, and some of our providers, such as Google, may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards the law requires, such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

7. How long we keep it

While your star is named, we keep the order details needed to show it and to confirm that the naming is yours. We keep order and payment records for as long as tax and accounting law requires. If a reservation is not paid, its details are deleted within 30 days. Our web server’s access logs, which record shortened IP addresses and the pages requested, are deleted automatically after 14 days. The visit statistics described in section 3 (shortened IP address, approximate location, browser, pages, time) are kept without a time limit and are not used to identify anyone.

8. Cookies

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The checkout window, provided by Paddle, may use cookies that are needed to process the payment safely; Paddle’s privacy policy applies to them.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Write to starrify.eu@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority, such as the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali.

10. Changes to this notice

We may update this notice. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
